How Does Dysport/Botox® Work?
Dysport/Botox® is derived from a neurotoxin that disrupts the communication between nerves and muscles and prevents the muscles from contracting. This causes the muscles to relax, smoothing out the appearance of existing creases and helping to prevent new ones from forming. Although this muscular-based treatment cannot address wrinkles caused by sun damage or exposure, Dysport/Botox® treatments are strikingly effective, especially when combined with other skin rejuvenation techniques to firm up any remaining skin laxity.
A series of very thin needles is carefully injected into the facial muscles, causing them to relax and smoothen. The treatment can easily be conducted within a short office visit, with many patients returning to work immediately following their procedure.

Results After Botox® Injections: What to Expect
Your Dysport/Botox® treatment will take several days to take effect, at which point you should begin to notice a lessening of the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. After about two weeks, the full effects of the treatment should be evident, with follow up treatments possible if needed in order to attain the desired results. Most patients refresh their Dysport/Botox® treatments roughly every four months in order to maintain the effects and continue to receive the preventative benefits of Dysport/Botox®.
